Turns out there are some perks to half day, PM Kindergarten. Some of these obviously include sleeping in past 7 (some days), eating a leisurely breakfast with the tiny dancers, and now morning kid classes. Let me tell you, this “Fenced in Momma” prefers doing extracurricular activities with the kids when the classes are NOT jam packed. There’s nothing worse than paying for a class and then spending the entire half hour stressing out because there aren’t seats to sit in, or your kid only gets half the class to actually do something because it’s so darn crowded. Not ideal!!

The daughter has been swimming now for almost a year and I’ll admit, I started dreading it. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that she was learning how to swim, but I couldn’t stand the stress involved that came with it. It got so crowded at the 5pm class that we had to wait to use the showers and wait to get a changing room. This wouldn’t have been so stressful if I wasn’t wrangling a grumpy toddler at the same time. Don’t even get me started on the overcrowded parking lot and the numerous times I couldn’t open our car door because it was sandwiched between 2 minivans.

It became too much, so I checked to see if there were any morning classes. To my surprise there was a 9am Monday class. I figured we would give it a shot in order to save my sanity (and my daughter’s swimming career).

Best decision ever!! It was a whole new world of classes. The teacher is the best yet, yay Kianna, and to add to my excitement, it’s basically empty. No more racing to grab an open seat or hoping a parade of kids wouldn’t knock over my son; now it’s just a peaceful adventure where I can even sip my tea.

If you have the chance to do a kid class in the mornings during the school week, do it! You won’t regret it and it might even save you from getting a few gray hairs!!
