As usual, I don’t normally post blog posts, but this one is too good to pass up.  Just recently, I was ready to toss my 1 year old iPhone 6s in the garbage can and never look back.  Over the last month or so I’ve been having all kinds of issues with charging my iPhone – with the biggest issue being that the charging cable had to be perfectly aligned in the slot to get a good charge.  There have been numerous times where I would wake up in the morning and it was down to 4% because I must have bumped the cable in the middle of the night in my usual tossing and turning.  Absolutely horrendous and such a terrible feeling knowing your alarm may or may not go off in the morning.

If you’re in the same boat as me…WAIT! Don’t throw out that iPhone just yet.  Don’t waste a trip to the Apple store.  Just get a paperclip and shove that thing right up your iPhone’s a$$.  For us men, we typically keep our iPhones in our pockets – and guess what?  Just like our lovely belly buttons, our iPhones have been accumulating lint since we’ve got them.  Similar to Q-Tips and Ear wax, every time we plug our phones in to charge, it shoves that lint further up there and compacts it even more.

So here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 paperclip of any size
  • 1 mobile phone
  • 38 seconds of your time

Detailed Instructions

Step 1: Unfold part of paperclip

Step 2: Shove it up the charging port of your phone

Step 3: Wiggle it around, really scraping the insides as much as possible.  Just when you think you’re done, keep going as you’ll be surprised how much is in there!

Step 4: Collect the lint that comes pouring out

Step 5: Take a picture and post your results on Facebook with the hashtag #lintchallenge

Step 6: Get back to your daily life without having to worry about it

Step 7: Share this post

Did this blow your mind or what?
